There’s something new in the ag room this year!!

We’ve had a successful first few days of school in the ag room/shop. We are excited to have Lexington FFA Alumni and chapter supporter Ms. Beth Clark joining our program as a teacher/FFA Advisor! She is teaching part-time with Mr. Wiltz and helping to expand the ag classes and FFA contests offered.

Friday evening, some vinyl decals got added to our walls to help personalize the space. We now have the officers and their positions, the starting words of the FFA Creed, and the all member response that is said during Opening Ceremonies to accompany the Sentinel’s duties at the door.
A huge thank you to Ms. Clark and Angel Baker for spending time to get these installed. A few members have already complimented the work!

Yesterday was a great day for Lexington FFA at the Section 9 FFA Fair! Addison Young and Weston Botkin both took time in the show ring for cattle and goats, respectively.
Both had great days with notable performances of Addison coming in reserve bred and owned with her heifer and Weston winning his class with his doe and advancing into the grand drive.
We are proud of our members and thank them for their hard work they put in!

It has been a great couple days at State Convention.
Congratulations to Jared Roe and Micah Wiltz on receiving their State Degrees.
Our Greenhand Quiz Bowl team had an awesome showing coached by Beth Clark.
We even squeezed in a little fun at Scheels, ice Cream at Kreckles, and chapter dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

The past and present of Lexington FFA came together today to try something new.
Dave Weber (‘69) came out and teach my incoming 6th grade boys Gunner, Creighton, and Gatlin to plant popcorn in one of our plots.
We plan to take this start to finish by harvesting, processing, popping Weber D’s kettle corn to sell at local events.

Yesterday we had 6 girls volunteer at the ISU campus for the ispe cte conference an help teacher by handing out stickers and engaging with presenters.

Yesterday we had a team of five members compete at State Livestock Judging. The competition was located at the McLean County Fairgrounds and hosted by ISU.
Our students did a great job judging multiple classes and learning so much over the season.
The team consisted of Mandy Hacker, Zoey Highland, Halle McClure, Jared Roe, and Addison Young. The team placed right in the middle of all the teams competing.
🌟Addison ended up placing 12th overall, with 550 individuals competing! Placing so high as a freshman is an impressive feat, and we look forward to how she does in the future!🌟

Last night was what is known as Wacky Wednesday for Section 9. A group of members headed to Prairie Central to compete in Ag Mechanics, Greenhand Quizbowl, and Varsity Quizbowl. We are very proud of the hard work and outcome from our teams!

In addition, Addison and Faith served as our delegates during section elections. They spent time reviewing resumes, listening to speeches, and voting in their 2026-2027 Section 9 team. Congratulations to the newly installed section team!

Yesterday we held the annual banquet of Lexington FFA. We gathered over food to reflect on the year, recognize our award recipients, and congratulate our seniors.
We had a ceremony full of meaning and are thankful to the members, families, and supporters who joined us!

We would like to congratulate our incoming officer team that was elected last week! These candidates gave speeches and were elected by their fellow FFA members into service. We look forward to seeing this team work together next year and guide our chapter!
The current officer team will retire and the incoming team will be installed at the Chapter Banquet on April 19th.
