In 2008, during the economic crash, I had to help communicate job losses to hundreds of employees. It was one of the hardest seasons of my leadership journey. What carried us through wasn’t perfect strategy. It was honest communication, steady presence, and empathy when it mattered most.

For years, my greatest obstacle wasn’t my career path or circumstances—it was the voice of doubt inside my own head.

The truth is, the loudest battles we face are often the quietest ones—the ones no one else sees. It’s easy to believe that success depends on titles, applause, or results, but I’ve learned that true growth begins when we silence the lies of fear and start believing the truth about who we are and what God has called us to do.

If you’re wrestling with doubt today, know this: you’re not alone, and you’re stronger than the whispers in your head. Lead yourself with love, and you’ll be equipped to lead others with courage.
