We’re so excited to welcome Mrs. Brittany Gardner and Mr. Brayden D***s to the Winburn family! 💙

🌎Mrs. Gardner | EL Teacher
Mrs. Gardner joins us as a 6th-year EL teacher and is passionate about celebrating the culture, backgrounds, and diversity that make our students so special! She’s a lifelong learner who loves reading, drawing, learning about different cultures and world history, and spending time with her husband and their two cats, Benjen & Beesly. 🐱📚

🎶Mr. D***s | Band Teacher
We are thrilled to welcome Mr. D***s as our brand-new band teacher! As a first-year teacher, he’s excited to jump in, grow, and continue building our already phenomenal band program! 🎺🥁🎷

A few fun facts about Mr. D***s: he loves video games, card games, and a good game of chess. ♟️🎮 He has two dogs and a cat at home (although he admits the cat is his favorite 😹). And whatever you do… DO NOT get him started on simple debates like, “Is a hot dog a sandwich?” 😂🌭

We are SO excited to welcome Mr. Seth Kruisch to the Winburn family as our new 7th grade counselor! 💙

Mr. K joins us with 10 years of experience as a Guidance Specialist and is ready to support, encourage, and advocate for our Warriors! 🫶📚

Here’s a little more about our newest Warrior 👇

👨‍👩‍👧 He is married to his wife, Kelly, and they have one daughter, Lydia, who is heading into her junior year at Dunbar!
🏐 Lydia plays volleyball at PLD and club volleyball for Lexington United, keeping the Kruisch family busy year-round!
🏃‍♂️ Mr. K is an avid distance runner and has completed 16 road marathons and 6 trail ultramarathons! He’s currently training for #17 this fall!
📏 And now, for the question everyone asks… How tall is he?! He’s 6’6” (maybe 6’7” with the right shoes 👀😂)!
☕️ And why is he so tall? His best guess: he never drank coffee because his mom told him it would stunt his growth!😂

🌾 Our Winburn FFA members have had an incredible summer!!!

From being recognized as a new chapter at the Kentucky State FFA Convention, to getting their hands dirty while interning in the gardens at the Kentucky Castle, and building leadership skills at FFA Camp, our students have been busy representing Winburn with pride every step of the way.

We're so proud of everything they've accomplished this summer and can't wait to see all they'll achieve this school year. Way to go, Warriors! 🌱💙
