🚲 Our annual Bike-a-Thon is tomorrow! Our students have busy getting pledges and tomorrow is their time to put in the work and have fun, all while raising money for families in need.

KVC Behavioral HealthCare Kentucky will be there supplying encouragement, lunch, and snacks!

Big shout-out to G&J Pepsi for providing drinks for our thirsty students!

Drop-off and Pick-up times are normal, but will happen to/from MLK, Jr. park. There will be NO AFTER-SCHOOL following Bike-a-Thon.

Please make sure your child brings their bike and helmet and that they dress appropriately for the activity and for the weather. See you all tomorrow! 🚴

Bike-a-Thon is this Friday! But where do the proceeds go? What is KVC?

KVC Behavioral HealthCare Kentucky is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and families throughout the commonwealth. Each day, KVC provides vital support to children who have endured abuse, neglect, and profound trauma, wrapping them in compassionate care during their most challenging moments.

Their dedicated team addresses urgent mental health needs by offering specialized behavioral therapy, trauma-informed counseling, and comprehensive crisis support tailored to help young people heal and build resilience. Central to their mission is the belief that every child deserves a safe, loving, and permanent home. Through intensive family preservation and reunification services, KVC works tirelessly alongside caregivers to stabilize households, overcome hardships, and safely keep families together whenever possible.

Proceeds from the Bike-a-thon directly benefit KVC Kentucky’s Holiday Hero campaign, bringing joy, hope, and personalized Christmas gifts to the children they serve so every child can experience the magic of the holiday season.

🕊️Honoring International Day of Peace ✌️ Maria Montessori believed that the ultimate achievement of implementing her educational system was creating and fostering inner peace within each child. At Providence, we honor that mission every day by working alongside our students to develop empathy, respect for ourselves, each other, and for our natural world, and working to understand our broader roles as global citizens.

Yesterday, as part of our Crafts Microeconomy, we had special guest Kim Wallis from La Soucique Studio come and show our students some beginning Metalworking! Some students made earrings while others crafted brooches and pins using the techniques Mrs. Wallis showed them. We loved it!

Dr. Montessori envisioned adolescents participating in and managing small business endeavors in order to experience economic activity in their community– the “microeconomy.” Students’ creative and intellectual processes are stimulated as they embark on the essential skills of design, production, exchange, and finance management, which promote the development of the adolescent toward understanding and taking part in adult society.

This we're going back a couple of years to some of our Service Work locations! Service Work is our way of putting into practice the values of our school community based on Montessori principles. When our students get involved in volunteer work outside of school, they not only help others, they expand their idea of what community is. Adolescents are developing their worldview, empathy, leadership skills, and realizing how their actions can have a positive impact. Hopefully, they also return to campus realizing how what we practice in our school community also applies to the “real world”.
Our Service locations this year are: McConnell Springs, , FoodChain, Military Missions, Inc., and Central Kentucky Riding for Hope
