Tuesday June 9th we are hosting the inaugural at Transylvania University Center for Entrepreneurship.

This camp is open to ANY high school student (including those who are entering or exiting high school). This will be an action packed day where they will learn skills immediately applicable. Plus, we'll have dozens of industry professionals on hand to mentor and network with students, and a SWEET "after action" surprise for those students who are truly interested in launching a business.

Do you know a high school student residing in Fayette county who has an entrepreneurial spirit or energy? Applications are open for the inaugural at Transylvania University - happening Tuesday, June 9th from 9a-4:30p.

Open to any high school student (including incoming and outgoing students) from public, private, and home schools. In this one-day camp they can expect:

- hands-on experiential learning about the basics of entrepreneurship
- networking with industry professionals
- real-world content and learning that is immediately applicable
- after-camp access to mentoring and continuing education
- and more!

Financial literacy is LIVE at Transylvania University! Thanks to the team at WesBanco in - we now have a huge portfolio of resources, available to our students, faculty, and staff free of charge.

This includes budget templates like planning for a wedding, buying your first home, launching a business, and paying off student loans (and so much more) - it includes business plan templates and other financial models.... the possibilities are endless!

We are thrilled to be able to access this content for all at Transylvania, and we are so thankful the team at WesBanco made this happen!

If you are interested in the marketing/advertising field for a career (or career shift), check out this PAID internship from Cornett Marketing. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS FEB 13.

Develop your professional skills and learn to succeed and lead in the advertising industry. BLAC, Building Leaders and Creators, is a paid 12-week internship program that will take place from May 18-August 7 2026. Built on three pillars: Education, Inspiration, and Experience, BLAC is a 12-week version of Advertising school that not only offers paid training and job opportunities but also connects BLAC alumni with the growing, national BLAC community.

Cornett is a founding member of the program and this is its sixth year. Cornett plans to host 2 interns in 2026.

As we kick off the Winter term, we are looking back to the end of last semester where our students pitched their semester-long project: building a business.

They had to create the business from scratch - starting with identifying the value proposition for their product or service. They created company names, logos, pitch decks - they fleshed out their revenue model and surveyed the competition. And they pitched their concepts to the class - it was amazing!
