Today marks the 106th birthday of film designer and architect John DeCuir Sr. He designed over 50 films, received eleven Academy Award nominations, and won three Oscars for his production design work. His influence on the art and architecture of cinema is significant as he paved the way for film set design to mature into narrative world-building production design.
