π»π What a Way to Finish Our Inaugural Year! ππ»
As we close the chapter on an incredible first year at Mary E. Britton Middle School, we are filled with pride, gratitude, and excitement for the future.
On June 3, we celebrated our very first 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony, honoring the students who helped establish the foundation of our school. The day began with a special Bear Crawl through the halls as students and staff cheered on our first 8th grade class.
Our 8th Grade Choir delivered beautiful performances of the Star-Spangled Banner and My Old Kentucky Home, earning a standing ovation from the crowd.
We proudly inducted eight outstanding students into the Britton Honor Society, recognized Nabaa Alani as the recipient of our first Mary E. Britton Legacy Award, and presented our inaugural Community Champion Award to North Lexington Church of Christ for their unwavering support of our students and school community.
On June 4, we continued the celebration with our staff end-of-year gathering. A special highlight was welcoming Patricia Hooks Gray, the great-great-grandniece of Mary E. Britton, who presented the first Britton/Hooks Family Legacy Award to Cache Richardson.
Selected by her colleagues, Ms. Richardson was recognized for her tireless dedication to meeting the social and emotional needs of our students and families. The award honors the staff member who best embodies the mission and vision of Mary E. Britton Middle School.
As we reflect on this first year, we celebrate remarkable academic growth, historic athletic achievements, meaningful community partnerships, and countless memories that helped shape our school culture.
Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community partners for helping make our inaugural year one to remember.

ππ» Our Britton Bears got a hands-on look into the world of emergency medical services thanks to Anthony Higgins, Director of EMS at Baptist Health!
Mr. Higgins visited Mrs. Manleyβs Medical Science classes to teach students about the important role EMS professionals play in keeping our community safe. Students learned about emergency response procedures, explored an ambulance, and even practiced emergency care skills firsthand.
Experiences like these help bring learning to life and connect our students to real-world careers in health and medical sciences β one of the key pillars of our vision at Mary E. Britton Middle School.
Thank you to Anthony Higgins and Baptist Health for investing in our students and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals! π©Ίπ
