This week has been full of fun with a Spirit Week, a wonderful holiday program with our youngest learners, and Gingerbread House Days! Memories were made this week at CES!

Reminder: this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are 1:00 closings.

Due to the delayed opening for Monday, we will be moving the Gingerbread House Days to Tuesday and Wednesday. The grade level times will remind the same. All volunteers are welcome to join us for a fun time!

Gingerbread House Days will be this Monday, 12/15 and Tuesday, 12/16. We still need lots of graham crackers to build the houses on Monday as well as candy to decorate on Tuesday. Please see this list below of what each grade level team should bring:

PK & Kindergarten-Skittles or M&Ms
1st Grade-Box of small Candy Canes
2nd Grade-Peppermints or Mimi Marshmallows
3rd Grade-Graham Crackers (Walmart brand)
4th Grade-Pretzels or Red Hot Cinnamon candies
5th Grade-Twizzlers or Gumdrops

Due to a Winter Weather Advisory for our area, Rockbridge County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, December 12. Friday will be a Virtual Day. Please be safe.

Due to poor road conditions across the county, RCPS will be closed for Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Employee Code 1.

Due to school closures/delays, the holiday program scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th has been postponed. The program for our Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Grade students will now be on Tuesday, December 16 at 6:00 pm. Students should dress in holiday colors. Please arrive by 5:45 and report directly to the classroom. Thanks for your support!

If you are tired of being trapped in your house due to snow, the VMI Basketball team will be playing again tonight! They are offering free entry to the first 100 kids. The doors open at 5:00 pm and the game starts at 6:00 pm.
