🚒🔥 CCL Visits the Lexington Fire Department! 🔥🚒

This week, our PreK Rainbow Room had an exciting field trip to the Lexington Fire Department! The children had the opportunity to tour the fire station, explore a real fire engine, and learn about the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe.

The firefighters were incredibly welcoming and took the time to answer questions, demonstrate equipment, and teach us about fire safety in a way that was engaging and fun for our young learners. The highlight for many was getting an up-close look at the fire truck and all of the tools used during emergencies!

At CCL, we love providing hands-on experiences that help children connect with the world around them, and this visit was a wonderful opportunity to learn about community helpers while building confidence and curiosity.

A huge thank you to the Lexington Fire Department for their time, generosity, and service to our community. ❤️🚒

OWNER FOUND 🐾 Found Cat in Lexington! 🐾

We found a friendly cat near The Children’s Center of Lexington. The cat is safe and currently being cared for at our center.

The cat is wearing a collar and appears to have tracking devices attached, but there is no name or identification information available.

🍲✨ Goula Goula Smash — A CCL Green Room Original!
It all started in dramatic play. Our toddlers dreamed up a brand-new recipe — complete with ingredients like sand, sticks, bubbles, and red things — and our amazing Green Room teachers ran with it! 🌟
They turned the children’s imagination into a hands-on sensory experience, complete with a recipe card, colored water, droppers, and mixing tools. The verdict? SWEET. SPICY. And definitely YUMMY. 😄
This is the magic that happens when we follow children’s lead. Play is their language, and our teachers are fluent. 💚

🌎✨ Our preschoolers have been busy learning how to care for our Earth! ✨🌎

One of our classes had a wonderful time exploring climate change, what it means to keep our planet healthy, and the many ways we can recycle and reuse materials in our everyday lives.

The children were especially engaged in hands-on projects that brought these important concepts to life. They recycled paper scraps by tearing them into small pieces, soaking and blending them, and transforming them into seed bombs filled with wildflower seeds 🌸—ready to take home, plant, and give back to the Earth in a meaningful way.

They also worked together to create a beautiful collaborative art piece using reused materials, encouraging creativity while reinforcing the importance of reducing waste.

In our block area, we even set up a recycling center where children sorted materials and matched items made from paper, plastic, glass, and metal ♻️

It’s been inspiring to see their growing understanding of how even small actions can make a big difference in caring for our planet. 💚
