Here's a survey request from friend of the project and University of California, Irvine doctoral student Paula Lubens:
Combat Veterans:
You are invited to participate in an anonymous survey of combat veterans who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan. The online survey, which takes 15-20 minutes to complete, is being conducted by researchers from the University of California, Irvine who are studying the experiences of OIF and OEF infantry vets who have lost military comrades to combat or su***de.
The participation of a large number of vets will help raise awareness of veterans’ issues that have not yet been adequately addressed. After completing the survey, you will be given the opportunity to enter a drawing for one of two $250 Amazon gift cards.

Robin Williams, One Year Later: What Will Your Verse Be?
Robin Williams was a kind man, noted for his good deeds and the joy he brought to so many of our lives. I think he would want us to grow from this loss, to take what we've learned, and to share it with our village.

Here's the first published article from University of Kentucky's Military Su***de Bereavement Study "The salience of primary exposure to su***de, when there has been exposure to both su***de and other traumatic military death, is an especially meaningful contribution. However, it may also require that clinicians become more sensitive to order of traumatic experiences, as well as more comfortable talking with clients (veteran and civilian) about their experiences with su***de. It is imperative for clinicians to probe for a personal history with su***de exposure in order to more adequately assess how exposure to su***de among family as well as their extended social networks may impact current functioning."
