While kratom, fentanyl and cychlorphine have been the subject of social media discussion, the University of Kentucky Police Department has not encountered any recent cases involving these substances among members of our student community.

At UK HealthCare, Patrick Grace, M.D., assistant chief medical officer for the UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital and Victoria Camenisch, a quality improvement clinical facilitator nurse and the lead facilitator for UK HealthCare’s sepsis task force have collaborated to launch a new screening protocol for patients arriving at the emergency department.

New UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging program helps recent graduates explore careers in Alzheimer’s research.

Lauren Poe is one of six recent graduates participating in the Kentucky Alzheimer’s Disease Research Training and Education Program, or KYAD-PREP. Supported by a five-year, $2.1 million grant from the National Institutes of Health, the program provides paid, full-time research positions, mentorship, coursework and professional development for recent college graduates interested in aging and Alzheimer’s disease research. UK announces record numbers in degrees, certificates awarded and enrollment.
