Honoring the legacy, carrying the tradition forward. 🕊️🏛️ For the second year in a row, our Law Enforcement and Firefighting pathway students gathered at Phoenix Park last week to take part in Lexington’s official 9/11 Remembrance and Wreath-Laying Ceremony.

Held at the Fallen Police Officer and Firefighter Memorial, this solemn event marked the historic 25th anniversary of September 11th. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with local leadership and active first responders, our students paid tribute to the lives lost and reflected on the deep sense of duty and sacrifice behind the public safety careers they are preparing to enter.

We are so proud of our future first responders for taking time to honor those who paved the way.

Honoring the brave through every step. 🕊️🇺🇸🚒 Last week, students from our Law Enforcement and Fire Pathways took part in the annual Lexington Fire Department Climb to Remember at Kroger Field - learning about, honoring, and carrying the legacy of those who came before them.

Together alongside the Lexington Fire Department and Lexington Police Department, our future first responders covered over 2,200 steps - the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center towers. Each student carried the name and photograph of a fallen police officer or firefighter, keeping their memory alive with every step climbed.

Our students were also deeply privileged to hear directly from retired FDNY firefighter Al Benjamin, who shared his firsthand account as a first responder on September 11, 2001.

It was a profound, humbling experience for our public safety pathways, serving as a powerful reminder of the dedication, sacrifice, and duty that define the careers they are training to enter.

Building the future with industry giants! 👷‍♂️🔨🏗️ Last week, we officially kicked off another incredible year of partnership with our friends at Gray! The Gray team stopped by to introduce our new students to the company, explore the wide range of careers in the construction industry, and preview all the high-impact experiences lined up for them this year.

And there’s a lot ahead! This school year, our students will have opportunities to:

🛠️ In-Class Mastery: Learn directly from Gray professionals through hands-on, expert-led classroom sessions.
🏢 Immersive Shadowing and Industry Visits: Spending days shadowing Gray's Headquarters and visiting local job sites to engage with industry leadership and learn more about the construction process.

Our focus this year is all about connecting classroom learning to real-world careers through meaningful, hands-on engagement and direct mentorship.

We are so grateful for partners like Gray who don't just tell students about career opportunities - they open their doors and invite them in to experience them firsthand! We can't wait to see where this year takes our students! ✨
