Many people have been asking about our Workshops and how they differ from our regular math classes, so here are a few details that may help you decide which option is a better fit for your child.
For many years, we have been helping Lexington High School students with their math classes. Over time, we noticed that we were often explaining the same topics, homework questions, and test problems to several students individually during the same week. That gave us the idea to bring students together in small groups.
Our Workshops follow the Lexington High School math curriculum and are designed to provide extra support and practice alongside what students are learning in school. Students can bring in their class materials and questions, and we work through difficult topics, help with homework, provide additional practice, and discuss the types of problems they may encounter on quizzes and tests.
Workshops also have some advantages over private tutoring. Students hear questions they may not have thought to ask themselves, see different approaches to the same problem, and have a chance to share their own ideas and reasoning. At the same time, the groups are kept small so that every student receives plenty of individual attention.
We currently offer Workshops for:
• 9th Grade CP
• 9th Grade Honors
• 10th Grade Honors
• 11th Grade Honors
• Calculus AB
• Calculus BC
