Last night we had the opportunity to hear from a few local community partners. We discussed who the organizations were, what they do, and got to see a little insight into non-profit work during COVID-19! We also had a brief Q and A panel at the end.

We had the pleasure of hearing from Lexington Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass, and Bluegrass AMBUCS.

Here is the recording of Zoom! Feel free to reach out to Sydney ([email protected]) for additional information from any of these organizations.

This Thursday afternoon, we will be featuring two local community partners: The Kentucky Equine Adoption Center and Lexington's International Book Project . Both organizations will be sharing about the mission, vision, and activities of their organization, in addition to how students can get involved in their work. There will be time for you to ask questions after each presentation, so don't miss this chance to connect with two great local organizations!

As you know, the ASB team has been working closely with UK staff and our community partners to monitor the recent developments regarding COVID-19 (the novel coronavirus disease - 2019). In light of recent university-wide announcements discouraging university-sponsored domestic travel and news of the suspension of in-person classes following spring break, UK ASB has officially cancelled all spring break programming. Although nothing has been finalized yet regarding our spring weekend Lexington-Focused trip, we will be following up in the coming weeks with a status update for that trip as well.

This decision was made in collaboration with the Office of Student Organizations and Activities in an effort to ensure the safety of each UK ASB participant as well as the safety of each member of the communities in which we serve. I know this is disappointing news to hear, but we truly appreciate your continued support and hope to connect you to meaningful community service here in Lexington and in the future.
