University of Kentucky Peace Studies is an interdisciplinary program that leverages research to figure out ways to prevent violence and promote peace.

Intro to Peace Studies is the portal course in a new certificate program at the University of Kentucky. Almost like a mini minor, the certificate only requires 12 credit hours consisting of 4 courses; PCE 201 is the portal course for the program, followed by two elective courses and then PCE 410, the capstone course. Political science program aims to expand graduate student pipeline - The Source - Washington University in St. Louis The Department of Political Science in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis has launched the WUSTEPS Pipeline Program, which is aimed at preparing undergraduates from diverse backgrounds for success in graduate programs.

Peace Studies is excited to host Dr. William Spaniel this week. He will be giving a talk on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War. Dr. Spaniel is an expert on interstate conflict and is a successful content creator. We are lucky to have him join us on Thursday (10/6)!

Another Peace Studies alum just accepted an awesome position. Congratulations, Olivia Bloss! During her time at UK, Olivia wrote an impressive Peace Studies capstone on how protest shapes legislation and presented it in DC.

Congratulations, Grace Gainer! Grace just accepted her second internship with the State Department. This time she will be interning for the Bureau of South & Central Asian Affairs. Grace will be attending weekly think tank and academic events related to South Asia and providing readouts from each event that will be read by senior department leadership. It is awesome to have a Peace Studies presence in the State Department!

Gargi Vyas, who taught the Peace Studies Capstone Seminar last semester, successfully defended her dissertation today. She is now Dr. Vyas and will be teaching for the Department of Political Science next year as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Congratulations!!
