TONIGHT, turn off outside lights and pull down your window shades to help millions of birds get to their southern homes.

292 million birds take off tonight.

Bigger than Wednesday's wave, and this time it is over the Ohio Valley. Chicago, Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington, Cincinnati, Nashville, Birmingham.

They ride the north wind behind the cold front. Last night 69 million crossed Wisconsin and 53 million crossed Illinois.

Turn off the porch light tonight. Lit windows pull them off course and into glass.
