🍓🍓 Farm to School Update! 🍓🍓

Fresh, juicy strawberries from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture were delivered today to all Lexington City Schools! Our students will be enjoying these delicious treats this week as part of our Farm to School program. 🍓✨

And that’s not all! Stay tuned for more shipments coming soon, including Farm to School Fresh Blueberries! 🫐

We’re excited to keep supporting local farmers and serving our students the best of what North Carolina has to offer! 🌱💚

SUN Bucks Now Available for Summer Grocery Support!

SUN Bucks is a USDA program providing a one-time $120 payment per eligible child to help families buy nutritious food during the summer when school is out.

Many students will automatically qualify if they are enrolled in a National School Lunch Program (NSLP) school and receive free or reduced-price meals, or if they participate in programs like SNAP, Medicaid (with income requirements), Foster Care, or the McKinney-Vento program.

Families who do not automatically qualify can apply if their child attends a NSLP or CEP school.

Congratulations to Our 10 New Certified Forklift Operators!

We’re proud to celebrate 10 seniors who have earned their Forklift Operators Certification, offered through Davidson-Davie Community College (DDCC)!
Students completed the classwork in the morning, passed their certification test, and spent the afternoon gaining hands-on experience—driving, backing up, and maneuvering through a series of cones.

They have now achieved a valuable, work-ready credential before graduating from high school.
Way to go, seniors—we are so proud of your hard work and success!

Good news! There will be one more Forklift Certification class offered through DDCC on May 1, 2025. Stay tuned for more details!

🚀 A piece of Lexington City reached new heights on April 14th! Our 3rd-5th grade students, under the guidance of Ms. Betty Jo Moore, had their postcards travel aboard Blue Origin’s historic all-female spaceflight. 🌟

One student’s design, “Dream Big”, was chosen as a Top 4 winning postcard nationwide, symbolizing the limitless potential of our young minds. ✨ We’re beyond proud of our students for aiming high and showing the world just how far their dreams can go — all the way to space! 🌍🚀
