What a wonderful presentation of our Elementary Fall Biographies! 📚✨

We are so proud of the students for the time, research, preparation, and courage they brought to their presentations. Sharing the story of a historical figure with an audience is an important opportunity to develop not only research and communication skills, but also confidence in speaking before a group.

A heartfelt thank you to our Elementary guides for preparing and supporting the students throughout this work, and to our families for showing up, listening, and encouraging them along the way. Your presence helps make these experiences meaningful and reminds our students that their work matters.

Public speaking begins long before a child steps onto a stage.

In Montessori, children are regularly invited to share their ideas, present their work, explain their thinking, participate in discussions, and speak to groups. In Elementary, these experiences might grow out of research, storytelling, book talks, or classroom presentations. As students enter adolescence, they have increasingly meaningful opportunities to lead, present, collaborate, and communicate with both peers and adults.

Along the way, children develop more than presentation skills. They learn how to prepare, organize their thoughts, listen to others, respond thoughtfully, and speak with confidence and purpose.

The goal isn't simply to create children who are comfortable speaking in front of a group. It is to help young people discover that their ideas matter, their voice has value, and they have something meaningful to contribute to their community.

At Community Montessori School, finding one's voice is part of growing into one's place in the world.

What a wonderful celebration of the Community Montessori School community! Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Fun Fair such a tremendous success.
A very special thank you to our incredible Events Committee for the countless hours of planning, organizing, coordinating, and problem-solving that went into creating such a joyful day for our students and families. Your creativity, energy, and dedication brought it all together!
We are also so grateful to our CMS parent body. From volunteering and donating to helping with setup, cleanup, games, food, and all the many details in between, your generosity of time and talent made the day possible.
And finally, thank you to our entire school-wide community—students, guides, staff, families, alumni, friends, and supporters—for showing up with such enthusiasm and helping make Fun Fair a true celebration of our community.
Days like this remind us what makes CMS special: we all have a part to play in creating a vibrant, connected community for our children. 💚
