A huge thank you to our incredible Social Committee for organizing such a memorable Bat Night for our community! We are so grateful for the time, energy, and donated materials that made this special evening possible. A special shout out to Jason Robinson for sharing his expertise and giving our families the unique opportunity to safely catch, observe, and learn about bats up close.
From building bat houses to making s’mores and spending time together outdoors, fun was truly had by all. Community events like these are such an important part of our school culture, strengthening the connections between families, children, and staff while continuing the strong tradition of parent involvement that makes our community so special.

Our Primary Lesson Open House was such a special evening! ✨ Our students proudly welcomed their families into the classroom, sharing Montessori materials and even teaching lessons of their own. Watching children step into the role of teacher was a beautiful reminder of the confidence, independence, and deep understanding fostered in a Montessori environment.
Thank you to all of the families who joined us and participated so enthusiastically. Parent education and involvement are such an important part of the Montessori journey, helping build a strong partnership between school and home in support of each child’s growth. 💛

Our Middle School Spring Bazaar last Friday was a tremendous success! Through their hard work, creativity, and collaboration, our students raised over $2,000 toward their upcoming trip to Chicago.
The Bazaar is the culmination of the Montessori adolescent Production & Exchange program, where students experience the real-world process of creating goods and services, managing finances, working as a team, and engaging with their community. These meaningful experiences help adolescents develop confidence, responsibility, independence, and a deeper understanding of the value of purposeful work.
We are so proud of our middle schoolers for their dedication, entrepreneurial spirit, and all they accomplished through this project!
Exploring the natural beauty in our own community 🌿 Our Lower Elementary students had a wonderful day at the University of Kentucky Arboretum and Children’s Garden. Thank you for hosting us and for providing such a meaningful natural space for the Lexington community to learn, explore, and connect with the outdoors. Experiences like these help children build curiosity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world beyond the classroom.

Why do Montessori students often demonstrate such deep understanding?
Rather than just receiving information, they are actively constructing it.
Instead of being told what to think, students are guided to:
• ask their own questions
• test ideas
• make connections
• revisit concepts over time
This approach strengthens more than academic skills. It builds:
• critical thinking
• intellectual independence
• genuine curiosity
Research in education consistently shows that when students engage deeply with material, they retain more and understand it at a higher level.
By the end of the year, that difference is clear.
Not just in what students know,
but in how they think.
The journey from concrete understanding to abstraction is a key component of Montessori pedagogy.
