We hosted our annual freshman Induction Ceremony today, alongside family and friends, in Bueter Gym. The event commenced with an opening welcome and prayer by Father Ben Horn. Students were greeted with a special message from Principal George and Dr. Katherine Gartland, and were then presented with prayer cards featuring our school prayer, handed out by new Superintendent Miranda Chaplin and Principal George.

Students also had the opportunity to participate in campus tours, receive their class schedule, meet their teachers, and enjoy lunch together.

For the third year in a row, Lexington Catholic has been voted the Best High School in Lexington by readers of kentucky.com.

To everyone who took the time to vote, thank you. We are proud of this, and we are more proud of the students who make it true every day. Once a Knight, always a Knight.

Thank you for the incredible support you've shown our teachers. We wanted a way to support them, in addition to the supplies they already receive from the school. Teachers are still actively working to build their lists, so this page will be updated throughout the next few weeks.

Our faculty and staff filled campus yesterday for the start of a brand new school year. The day began in the theater with a welcome, followed by Mass in Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary. From there, teachers rotated through special sessions, with a break for lunch together in the student commons. Our teachers are ready. Students, we cannot wait to see you.

We’re thrilled to celebrate our recent graduate, Max Koch (‘25), who has been accepted as a seminarian for the Catholic Diocese of Lexington. This fall, Max will enter Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary in Indianapolis as he answers God’s call to serve.

On this Memorial of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, we are happy to share that Bishop John has accepted Max Koch as a seminarian for the Catholic Diocese of Lexington!

Max grew up in Paris, Kentucky, where he attended the Church of the Annunciation. He graduated from Lexington Catholic High School in 2025 and recently completed his first year of college at Western Kentucky University. This fall, he will enter formation at Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary in Indianapolis.

Please join us in welcoming Max and praying for him as he begins this journey of formation and continues discerning God’s call.

Members of Lexington Catholic’s senior leadership team spent a full day together last week at a working retreat led by Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Miranda Chaplin, with Jenny Riggs, Jeremy Hughes, and Father Ben Horn. We celebrated Mass, completed a SWOT analysis, set short-term and long-term goals, and spent real time on the question at the heart of it all: why we serve at Lexington Catholic. The answer that kept surfacing was our shared faith, our belief in the mission of Catholic education, and the students and families we are called to serve.
