Lafayette Band "Pride of the Bluegrass" Lafayette High School Band The Lafayette Band is a year round, co-curricular activity for every participating student.

The Lafayette High School Band program consists of the marching band, 3 concert bands, 2 jazz bands, percussion ensembles, and color guard.

💙🤍❤️In Memoriam: Mr. Charles M. "Chuck" Smith❤️🤍💙

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our former Lafayette High School Director of Bands, Mr. Charles M. (Chuck) Smith.

Mr. Smith served as Director of Bands at Lafayette High School from 1996 to 2021. During his time as "Guardian" of the Pride of The Bluegrass, he achieved so many accomplishments for our program.

Here are just a few:

🏆17 First Place KMEA State Marching Band Championships
🏆2004 Bands of America Grand Nationals Finalist
