The Wildcat Pulling Team is currently competing in the ASABE International 1/4 Scale Tractor Student Design Competition in Bloomington, Illinois.

From May 28–31, 2026, our students are putting months of design, fabrication, testing, and problem-solving to the test on the national stage. We’re proud to see their hard work representing BAE and the University of Kentucky. Go Cats! 🐾

Honoring UK’s 2026–27 University Research Professors

17 UK faculty members have been named University Research Professors, an award recognizing excellence across the breadth of research and scholarly achievement at UK.

Ilhem Messaoudi, UK’s acting vice president for research said, “This cohort of University Research Professors has demonstrated excellence in fields that address scientific, social, cultural and economic challenges in our region and around the world.”

Another set of heat shields, one carbon and two cork, was fabricated in Dr. Sama's lab for a re-entry experiment. They are scheduled to be sent to the International Space Station in early April. While the work was purely manufacturing-focused, it was still exciting to contribute to hardware that will go to space 🛰
