We always invite students and families to "Parents and Pastries" on the first Friday of school. They come to the school kitchen 30-40 minutes early so they can get to know each other and eat some breakfast on the first Friday of school.

This time next week (it's a little after 10:00 p.m.) I hope all of the students and teachers are fast asleep! School starts August 6! Yes, that is early, but we will have a full week at Thanksgiving, P/T conference followed by 2 days of fall break, and still get out on May 19 at 11:30! We are so excited to have several new students and a new teacher!

Thank you to all who cleaned out their basements and garages and to those who came and shopped at our yard sale! We met some lovely neighbors and raised money for the school at the same time!

We have a gym full of things for our yard sale this Sunday! There are items from 25¢ to a few hundred dollars! Baby things, linens, dishes, books and jigsaw puzzles, pictures/frames, school desks, and so much more! Come at 9:00 so you can get the cool stuff before someone else nabs it! There will also be some individual packaged snacks for sale so the kids don't get hungry while you are shopping!

The library and both younger grade classrooms have brand new carpet and the upper grade classroom and hallway will be steam cleaned tomorrow! Then we can get the classrooms ready for students! We do have room for 3-4 more students in grades 5-8, and perhaps 1-2 more in K-4, but have a great bunch of kids already! Oh, and could there be any more flowers on these bushes outside of Mrs. Shoemate's room?
