Because of the COVID-19 pandemic we are required to restrict the total number of registrants for our Sandestin Course to 100 attendees. If you want to secure a seat, early registration is encouraged. CDC guidelines will be strictly adhered to. The configuration of the conference room will be designed to provide 6’ social distancing. Face masks will be required and the temperature of each registrant will be taken prior to entry into the conference room. Registrants are encouraged to provide their own face masks. Each day adhesive medallions will be provided to those registrants meeting the entry requirements, which will permit exit and re-entry without being retested. Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes will be provided by the Resort. Unfortunately we will be unable to provide complementary breakfasts in the Sunset Bay Café.

NOTE FROM THE OPCE COURSE DIRECTOR:

Unfortunately, what I hoped would not happen—happened. We were forced to cancel our May 15-18, 2020 CE course at Big Cedar Lodge because of restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic. I made the decision late Wednesday afternoon 4/1/2020, after consultation with Big Cedar. Some of you may have already gotten an email message from Big Cedar cancelling your room reservation. Unfortunately, the instant that our course was taken off of Big Cedar’s books, their computers automatically shot out the email. I’m sorry, that their computers beat me to the punch, but their computers are a little faster than me. However, as promised I’m letting you know as soon as possible.

So, what happens now for those of you that have already registered for this course. I am offering three options to accommodate whatever your needs may be.

First, for those of you who were relying on us for your annual 20 hours of CE credit, I’m offering to transfer your registration to our course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida, November 6-9, 2020. If you have never been to Sandestin, you are in for a treat. It’s a beautiful 2400-acre resort right on the Gulf of Mexico. Also, the weather in November is beautiful, the ocean is still at 75 degrees and all of the crazies from summer have left—it’s a very peaceful and relaxing environment!

Second, if you would like to come to next year’s Big Cedar course May 14-17, 2021, we will transfer your registration to that course.

Third, for those of you who wish to cancel your registration, we will send you a check refunding your tuition in full.

PLEASE REPLY BY EMAIL TO [email protected] AND LET US KNOW WHICH OPTION YOU HAVE CHOSEN. WE CAN ALSO BE REACHED BY PHONE AT (859) 269-9492.

I’m truly sorry for the decision to cancel, but I had no choice. It’s a major disappointment for me and I’m sure for many of you. I sincerely hope that we will see you either in Florida this fall or at Big Cedar next year.

Please note that as of today 4/3/20 we have also had to cancel our planned Cruise/CE Course to Northern European Capitals in September—another major disappointment!

Best Regards,

Jim

Unfortunately we have been forced to cancel the course at Big Cedar Lodge this May due to COVID-19. Those individuals who have registered for the course will be receiving an email this evening notifying them of our cancellation and how to proceed! We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you! Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions! 859-269-9492

Please Note:

Some registrants for our CE course at Big Cedar Lodge May 15-18 have asked about our plans for the course in consideration of the coronavirus problem. Currently we are planning to go ahead with the course and we will monitor the situation daily over the next few weeks. Our plans could change if circumstances so dictate and if so, we will let you know immediately. If circumstances dictate that we have to cancel the course, be assured that we will refund your tuition. We have been in contact with Big Cedar Lodge and they too are “take it one day at a time” at this point.

We will keep you posted. Hope you and your families are staying happy and healthy!!
