The National Fraternal Order of Police regrets to report that as of midnight on 31 July, there have been 198 officers shot in the line of duty in 2026. Of those officers shot, 17 of them were killed.

Today we pause to remember Officer Bryan Durman, who gave everything for our city 16 years ago.

The passage of time does not take away from the gratitude we feel for his service or the sorrow we feel at his loss. A senseless act of violence took one of our own. It robbed a family of a husband, son, brother, and father. We ask that you stop today to remember and to honor him.
