The Asphalt Institute is proud to join the National Asphalt Pavement Association and Flexible Pavements of Ohio in supporting the "Constructing Resilient and Sustainable Transportation Infrastructure for Ohio's Future" workshop, hosted by Ohio University and ODOT in Columbus this week. Asphalt Institute Regional Engineer Jason Wielinski (left) and NAPA’s Amlan Mukherjee, Ph.D., P.E. (center) both presented on sustainability and resilience as they relate to the design, manufacture and performance of flexible pavements. These were core topics in a workshop designed to bring together top experts and develop strategic infrastructure policy integrating resilience and sustainability across all project phases. This is a great collaboration with important work ahead for Ohio's transportation future.

Thank you, Asphalt Pro Magazine

The future of asphalt binder supply depends on more than road construction demand.

A new analysis supported by the Asphalt Institute Foundation examines how future crude oil demand could influence asphalt binder supply across North America.

The article explains how refinery throughput, heavy crude availability and long-term global energy demand remain closely connected to liquid AC production. It also explores Wood Mackenzie projections tied to population growth, AI-driven electricity demand and evolving energy transition scenarios.

Even under projected declines in petroleum demand, researchers found North American liquid AC production is expected to remain available for future construction needs.
