We had a great last day with staff celebrating the year and 4 of our teachers who are retiring. We will miss them all very much! They have made such an impact on our school community, and we are going to miss them dearly! Thank you Mr. Gerken, Ms. Prewitt, Ms. Smith, and Ms. Trisko for your dedication to our students! Enjoy your much deserved retirement and come back to visit!!

This morning we held our annual “SMS Talent Show” and the entire school attended. The performers were amazing and so was the audience!

Kona Ice will be available tomorrow for students to purchase!!

Congratulations to one of our many great teachers, Ms. Peckinpaugh!! She was given an award today for the “Best Student” in the Western Kentucky University Educational Leadership Program!! We are so proud of her!! Giving her the award was former SMS Principal, Frank Coffey!!

We want to thank Henry Lane and Forcht Bank for providing ice cream treats to our incredible staff today!!! A small reward for all their hard work this year and during KSA Testing!!

Our Spartans had a great time at The Lexington Legends game today!! They enjoyed some baseball, ballpark food, and showed Spartan Pride! Special thanks to our SMS PTSA and Southern Middle Staff for helping support this trip!
