Sigma Nu Fraternity

The Fraternity is proud to introduce its Consultant team for the 2026–2027 academic year: Jay Fountain (Southern Mississippi), Tucker Gary (Stephen F. Austin State), Will Hetzel (Gettysburg), Jacob Muncy (San Jose State), Jacob Rodriguez (Central Arkansas), and Evan Brandau (Jacksonville State). Evan will also oversee the Fraternity’s return of the Beta Mu Chapter at the University of Iowa.
Senior staff members Reagan Basil (Furman) and Noah Frank (Purdue) will also support a select portfolio of collegiate chapters, with Noah leading the Fraternity’s return of the Delta Delta Chapter at Penn State University.

Sigma Nu Fraternity recognizes that the dedication of our alumni advisors and volunteers is essential to the long-term success of our chapters and the advancement of our honorable Mission.

Today, the Legion of Honor proudly recognizes four outstanding alumni volunteers as recipients of Sigma Nu’s 2026 Alumni, Advisor, and Volunteer Awards:

Division Commander of the Year – Joshua D. Green (Arizona)
Chapter Advisor of the Year – Robert N. Herb (Gettysburg)
House Corporation Officer of the Year – James C. Wilkinson (Kansas)

Today, Sigma Nu Fraternity proudly recognizes two exceptional Knights as recipients of the Fraternity’s 2026 Collegiate Merit Awards.

The Collegiate Merit Awards honor brothers who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in leadership, academics, and service to the Fraternity. Recipients are also recognized for their commitment to Sigma Nu’s ideals, involvement beyond the classroom, and contributions to the advancement of their chapter, campus, community, and beyond.

Sigma Nu’s 2026 Collegiate Merit Award recipients are:

Man of the Year – Jackson C. Young (Oklahoma State)
Scholar of the Year – Brock G. Blakley (Arizona State)

The Fraternity proudly salutes Brothers Young and Blakley and congratulates them on their outstanding leadership, achievement, and dedication to the Legion of Honor.

Sigma Nu Fraternity proudly celebrates the recipients of the 2026 Alpha Affiliate Award, one of the highest honors the Fraternity can bestow upon a collegiate member.

Established in 1962, the Alpha Affiliate Award recognizes ten outstanding graduating seniors who have demonstrated a genuine commitment to the ideals of the Legion of Honor and whose record of achievement and service serves as a worthy example for others to follow.

As part of this prestigious distinction, each recipient is assigned an Alpha Chapter badge number and designated an affiliate of Alpha Chapter, Sigma Nu’s founding chapter at the Virginia Military Institute.

Later today, collegiate brothers will arrive for the second and final session of the 2026 Lexington Leadership Institute. This three-day leadership development program – made possible by the Spears Family Epsilon Epsilon Center for Excellence and the generous contributions from alumni to the Mighty Oaks Campaign - equips rising second- and third-year members with critical leadership skills, valuable personal development insights, and practical tools and experiences designed to help them excel within the Fraternity and in their academic, personal, and professional lives. The Fraternity is proud to offer this transformational experience and is excited to welcome a record number of participants to this year’s Institute.

The General Fraternity would like to recognize and thank three valued members of our staff family, Mac McNeilly (Huntingdon), Tucker Barco (Batten), and Dalton Nichols (Florida), who have recently concluded their service to Sigma Nu.

Mac joined staff in June 2021 after graduating from Huntingdon College. During his five years on staff, he played a pivotal role in advancing the Fraternity's expansion efforts as Director of Expansion & Recruitment. His leadership helped steward the return of several historic chapters, including Delta Kappa (Delaware), Zeta Iota (San Jose State), Kappa Gamma (Cal Poly Pomona), Gamma Sigma (Iowa State), Eta Kappa (San Diego State), and Lambda (Washington & Lee), while also guiding the establishment of a new colony at Shenandoah University. Through these efforts, Mac made a lasting contribution to the continued growth and strength of the Legion of Honor.

Tucker joined staff in June 2024 after graduating from Virginia Wesleyan University (now Batten University). He recently concluded two years of service as a Leadership Consultant, supporting and strengthening Sigma Nu chapters throughout the Northeastern United States. In addition to his work with undergraduate chapters, many brothers and alumni will remember Tucker as the voice of Sigma Nu's national events, where he served as the announcer for General Fraternity conclaves, welcoming attendees and introducing speakers from the A/V table with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Dalton joined staff in June 2025 after graduating from the University of Florida. During his year as a Leadership Consultant, he worked closely with chapters throughout the Southeastern United States, providing guidance, coaching, and support to undergraduate leaders. His commitment to strengthening Sigma Nu chapters left a meaningful impact on the brothers he served.

On behalf of the entire Legion of Honor, we extend our sincere gratitude to Mac, Tucker, and Dalton for their dedication, service, and the lasting impact they have made on Sigma Nu. We wish them both every success in the next chapter of their personal and professional journeys.

Sometimes the bonds of Sigma Nu appear in the most unexpected places. Brother Dr. Paul Roof, an adjunct professor at The Citadel, recently discovered that one of his students, Cadet Daulton Keith, shared more than just a classroom—they were both initiated into the Zeta Theta Chapter at Presbyterian College.

As the semester progressed, the two realized their common Sigma Nu connection and enjoyed reflecting on the chapter's history, including faculty members who had taught Dr. Roof decades earlier and were still teaching when Brother Keith attended Presbyterian before transferring to The Citadel.

After 25 years of teaching, Dr. Roof noted that this was the first time he had the opportunity to teach a fellow Sigma Nu brother.

The Fraternity is pleased to welcome its newest class of Leadership Consultants: Brother Will Hetzel (Gettysburg), Brother Tucker Gary (Stephen F. Austin), and Brother Jay Fountain (Southern Mississippi). Joining the General Fraternity staff on June 1, they have spent the summer training and preparing to support chapters during the upcoming fall consultation season.
