"Mysterious Q" and sifu Saleem in a private class of Wu Style Tai Qi, "Thirteen Golden Postures" form.

We have a lot of empty hands training at Lam Tang. Two of our disciples, "Emery" Merlin Satterfield, and our mysterious "Q" are sparring in a friendly match. The mysterious "Q" looks very determined to take-down his opponent.

Old photos are so much fun. Here's disciple "Emery" Merlin Satterfield showing a fierce Hung Gar pose with Butterfly Swords.

As I was going through old (really old! ...possibly 2000) photos, I found these photos of Sifu Saleem (at left) teaching some Hung Gar Kung Fu to students. Likely in the Teacher Training group, both Robert Williams (forefront) and Tim Kirby (to Rob's right) have gone on to discipleship, and are foundations in the Lam Tang's Hung Gar family.

Today, I add this to honor all our students who have been on the kung fu path...

Coming up on Saturday the 25th of July! Once again, Sifu Saleem will be teaching a workshop on Qi Gong. This time the class will cover the Eight Pieces of Brocade, also known as Ba Duan Jin. These famous ancient Chinese exercises are known for building health by increasing circulation and thereby freeing the flow of Qi (bio-electric energy). This results in improvement of general health and strengthening along with many other health benefits.

The Eight Pieces of Brocade are easily adaptable for sitting exercise as well as standing and there are several versions designed not only for serious martial artists, but are comfortable enough for anyone who wants to start a more gentle exercise routine.

If you are interested, please call Sifu Saleem at 803-606-5672 to reserve your place in class.
