It’s the end of strawberry season in Kentucky. This beautiful gallon of strawberries turned into delicious jars of strawberry jam this evening!

Day two of out first ever Fire and Spice Days at Karen Rood’s Kitchen Le Calabash was pure deliciousness and fun! South African favorites of lamb bobotie, Peri Peri Peri chicken, cheddar corn and chili bread and chocolate “melk” tart (among others) filled our bellies and our hearts were full! Thank you to all who participated in our two days! Thank you to chefs Sidney and Alison Bond from Le Calabash, France who came to teach us these delicious dishes! Can’t wait for next year when we bring them back for more!

Hi everyone! I know it’s been a hot minute since I posted last. I have been in Louisville with my Dad since we returned from the Africa trip. I hope to have a schedule of classes for April available soon! And I have a very big announcement: Chefs Sidney and Alison Bond will be coming to Karen Rood’s Kitchen for a US full day Fire and Spice class! Class will be held on Tuesday, May 5 and Wednesday May 6.! Different recipes on each day so you can come to one or both! So save the date and more info to come soon!
