The Transylvania Library participates in this annually because it's important to us as librarians to protect the freedom to read whatever you want and to fight against censorship. Transylvania senior shares significance of ancient coins through academic internship - Transylvania University - 1780 Through an internship for academic credit, Transylvania senior Ben Gallenstein displayed, archived and researched ancient Greek and Roman coins.

Today (9/10) the library will be closing at 3:30pm for student worker training! We will be open again on Saturday at 1pm!

One year ago, we added resources and information to our website about Juneteenth. Today, it is now a federal holiday. There is still so much work to do, and a way to begin that work is to read and learn and educate yourself. Reach out to any librarian, and we’ll be more than happy to help you on this important journey.

Today is Juneteenth, an annual celebration of the day when a group of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were notified of their emancipation. Acclaimed Kentucky author wins 2021 Transylvania Judy Gaines Young Book Award | Transylvania University | 1780 Appalachian writer Robert Gipe has won Transylvania's 2021 Judy Gaines Young Book Award for his "Canard County” trilogy. The school plans to honor the author, along with student winner Olivia O'Neal Forester, at an awards event sometime this fall.
