A reminder that the John Stempel Memorial Service is happening today at 4pm, at Cornerstone. For a live feed please RSVP, and you will receive a link by e-mail.

This is a reminder that we will be having a Ceremony for the late John Stempel a week from today, on July 28th from 4-6PM, at the Cornerstone Exchange. The ceremony will feature the road sign unveiling and will celebrate Dr. Stempel's lasting legacy, followed by a brief reception. The Patterson School will provide pizza and refreshments from Ethereal Slice House, located in the Cornerstone Exchange.

For those participating in our summer book club, the evening will continue with our scheduled 7:00 p.m. discussion of Chokepoints.

I have also been informed by the space that they are able to stream the ceremony. If you would like to join us via streaming, please fill out the RSVP with your email address, rather than your name. I will send the link to all email addresses on that list the day before or the day of the ceremony.

You are cordially invited to join us for a ceremony honoring the late John Stempel on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Exchange, just off the University of Kentucky campus.

In recognition of Dr. John Stempel's extraordinary service and leadership at the Patterson School and throughout his distinguished career, his family, in partnership with state and local government and Patterson alumni, has arranged for a state roadway to be named in his honor.
