Come to the next BOE meeting and address Gregg Slate. If he won't return phone calls, tell him here. Show the Board of Education members he is not doing his job. Communication is key. It's disrespectful and unprofessional to not speak with parents over their concerns, questions or problems? I have to ask why? Why do you not return calls?

Superintendent Gregg Slate asked the County Commissioners tonight for 1.7 Million dollars!

Let's give him suggestions on how to save money.

"All schools with less than 400 kids will lose the vice principal position next school year. Currently if the school has less we share a VP with a second school. Our VP's are truly the ones that handle the day to day and direct contact with our students. This is going to be a HUGE impact, considering that, along with the fact that most of those schools losing that position are title one schools and need it the most... There are so many ways we could cut costs and help with the budget if we were just asked for ideas, but unfortunately we are looked at as incompetent..."

A hiring freeze in Davidson County schools is meant to save money and compensate for the lack of updated state budget funding, according to the Davidson County Schools superintendent.
