Congratulations to Prof. Dakshnamoorthy
Manivannan and his coauthors for two recent accomplishments:

First, the open access article "Secure Authentication and Privacy-Preserving Techniques in Vehicular Ad-hoc ETworks (VANETs)" by D. Manivannan, Shafika Showkat Moni, and Sherali Zeadally has been recognized by Elsevier for connecting with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Second, the article "A Deep Learning Approach for Intrusion Detection in Internet of Things using Focal Loss Function" by Ayesha S. Dina, A. B. Siddique, and D. UK CS Professor Simone Silvestri and our director of graduate programs will be giving two talks this month!

The first is a keynote address at the Missouri University of Science and Technology ISC Graduate Research Symposium titled "Climbing the Doctoral Mountain: Essential Strategies for a Successful PhD."

The second will be at the University of Padua, Italy and it titled “Towards the Internet of Agricultural Things: Optimization, AI, and Communication Solutions for Modern Farming"

Congratulations UK CS graduate students Xu Tao and Jackson Butcher, to UK CS Prof. Simone Silvestri, and to their colleague Sajal K. Das, on receiving the Best Demo Runner Up paper award at the IEEE PerCom conference!

Their paper, "iCrop+: An Edge-boosted Crop Disease Detection System via TinyML and LoRa Communication" can be found in the 2025 proceedings of the International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications.
