Former therapist/coach seeking God in all things. Practicing joy, peace, and intention imperfectly💗 As a Christian woman, you know God has a plan for you.

You know (head knowledge) that you are loved. But your heart is always a step behind in picking up the message and you work harder to be a "good little Christian girl". You work hard to be a peace-keeper, not a peace-maker, and you are exhausted! Or maybe it might be one of these making it even harder to find peace, contentment, joy? People-pleasing, Perfectionism, relationships that 'feel' one-si

I rode through the countryside not far from where our old farm was this past week. Along the roadside, a patch of daffodils was blooming. I have noticed them every spring for years and always wondered who planted them.

Was there once a home here? Who lived, loved, and worked this piece of ground?

Someone one day, shovel in hand, took time to plant these bulbs in the barrenness of fall so that yellow blooms would dance months later and signal spring. I love that hope, that forethought, the taking time today to believe in beauty in the future.

The house, if there was one, is long gone. The people who planted those bulbs are likely gone too. Yet every spring the daffodils return, bright and faithful.

We pass by and simply enjoy the surprise of them, never knowing the story behind their planting. Still, the flowers tell it quietly—reminding us that even when people and places fade, something about them remains.

What are beauty are you and I cultivating that will remain? The gift of simple daffodils in spring is encouraging. I think I will plant some this fall... A little gift for travelers years and years from now.

This is the first year since we moved from the farm that I’ve grown zinnias and D and I are awestruck with the happy they bring! Every day there is a new color, new shape, new surprise to see!!! Sure, I had to take out the trusted perennials, but my oh my!!!

Oswald Chambers talks about “the loveliness of the commonplace”. That’s the sweet faces of the zinnia - so easy, so prolific, but oh the loveliness!

There’s a huge metaphor here😂😂😂.

Yesterday was so much fun with my beautiful sis-in-law at the Growers Market- flowers♥️, tomatoes, peaches, and Nancy Drew mysteries! (Hoping my grandbabes love reading her adventures as much as and I did!!)

Came home and inspired by I started on this of the flowers… this is my study for hopefully a larger painting this week…

It’s a hot morning, but wonderfully cooler on the porch. Looking forward to this week and seeing my kiddos!!

It’s raining tonight. The porch is cool and quiet. I’ve got my bird app ready and recording all the sounds😂! My guy of 41 years and I are enjoying the late evening, the dogs, the conversation…It is one of those nights when you appreciate the life that’s brought you here and you have a hymn in your heart.
