Dear TCHS Families:

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Kristy Field as the next head principal of The Academies of Tates Creek High School! Dr. Field’s appointment marks a historic milestone as the first female principal of the school.

With more than 23 years of experience in education, this is Field’s 9th year with Fayette County Public Schools. Before returning to Kentucky in 2015, Field served as an intervention specialist at Chillicothe High School in Ohio for 14 years. Since joining FCPS, she has served in various roles including special education teacher, administrative dean and intervention specialist at STEAM Academy, Freshman academy principal at Bryan Station High School, and most recently associate principal at Lafayette High School. Dr. Field is excited to continue her work with Fayette County Public Schools as the next head principal of The Academies of Tates Creek High School.

I am very excited for the Tates Creek community and know that TCHS staff, students, and families will excel under Dr. Field’s leadership. She brings a wealth of knowledge as an educator and instructional leader and is very familiar with the academy model. I am convinced Tates Creek High School will continue to flourish as a hub of academic excellence, innovation, and inclusivity under her leadership.

Field attended the University of Rio Grande in Ohio where she earned a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in education, specializing in Special Education. She obtained her certification in education administration from the University of Ohio and later completed her doctorate in educational leadership and organizational management through the University of Louisville.

Join me in congratulating Dr. Field and welcoming her to the Tates Creek family! I know that together you will accomplish great things for the students and community at Tates Creek High School.

The Tates Creek High School Site Based Council (SBDM) has begun the search for the next Executive Principal of TCHS. In an effort to involve all stakeholders as a part of the principal selection process, we are asking families and students to complete a survey. Your input is very valuable, and we want to hear from TCHS parents, students, and staff!

The survey will be open from July 11th-15th, 2023 at 5 PM. Please check your email for a survey link.
