🐛 First grade core memory unlocked! 🦋✨

There is nothing quite like the magic of watching science take flight before our eyes. Over the past few weeks, our classrooms have been home to tiny caterpillars. Our first graders patiently watched as they formed cozy chrysalises while learning incredible new words like proboscis!

Swipe to see the pure joy, wide eyes, and big smiles as we officially released our butterflies into the world! 🌸🍃

Our library was buzzing with hands-on STEM challenges this past Friday with Ms. V!

🍎 Kindergarteners kicked things off by diving into a book about apples! They put their reading into action by constructing their very own apple trees, exploring concepts like balance, sizing, and placement.

⛺ First & Second Graders took on a massive team challenge! Using only straws and connectors, they collaborated to design and build structures large enough to sit inside. Talk about amazing teamwork, stability, and problem-solving!

🏀 Our third, fourth, and fifth graders channeled their inner engineers to build custom basketball launchers (aka catapults) using popsicle sticks, tape, rubber bands, and cups. The real test comes next week when they construct a goal to test their shooting accuracy! We are so proud of our creative thinkers and problem solvers. Stay tuned to see how those basketball launchers perform!

They answer to both names now 😂

Our students aren’t the only ones excited to be back at Millcreek this fall! Officer Arnold got to experience life as a second grader in Ms. Wilburn’s class today! 🛝📝🎒
