We ended our first 3 days all together with a pep rally! 🎉 All staff were introduced and our newest students were sorted in one of our 4 houses. Such a fun time together as one big community! ❤️ 💙 💚 🖤

🎉 Today was a day full of celebration! 🎉 Dixie Magnet has been nationally recognized as a Promising Practice School 🏆 for our work as a Professional Learning Community AND a National Model PBL School🏆! Amazing things are happening at Dixie!!! We can't wait to start a new journey together with our students and community in 9 days!

Kindergarten Camp is next week! We're excited to meet out newest Dixie Dolphins and their families! Please plan to arrive at 7:45am on Monday, so we can start the Parent Meeting at 8:00am! Please bring your child, their backpack, and a completed Summer Ignite Registration Form. This form was mailed in the summer mailer but can also be found linked below). We will feed your child breakfast at K Camp and the PTA is providing snacks for those attending the Parent Meeting! We look forward to seeing you there! 🧑🏽‍🚀🚀❤️

Do you have an incoming kindergarten student who will be attending Dixie Magnet Elementary School in the fall? We would LOVE for them to join us for Kindergarten Camp! Kindergarten Camp will be the week of July 31-August 3, Monday-Thursday, from 8:00am to 12:00pm each day! We will also have an important meeting for parents/guardians on Monday, July 31st at 8:00am (the first day of camp). We can’t wait to meet our kindergarten families and students! 🧑🏽‍🚀🚀❤️

We are proud to be a part of our community and happy to host a meeting for the 6th district with Councilwoman Denise Gray and Mayor Linda Gorton!

Our after school program is great for our students and adults!

Our teachers deepened their commitment to this week with Magnify Learning. Our projects for the 23-24 year are aligned to standards, have frequent benchmarks & scaffolds, include 21st century skills AND will empower students to be a positive force in our changing world! Exciting things are happening at Dixie and we can’t wait for August!

Look who just won Classified Employee of the Year! We’re so grateful for Officer Keaton, the way he loves our kids, and the way he keeps us safe each day! Congrats, Officer Keaton! 💙

Our 3rd graders ended the year by helping save 4 endangered animals by adopting them! The students were passionate about bringing awareness to these animals. Each student selected an animal, compiled research and worked together to write a book thanks to Matthew Wood and UPS. All the money raised was donated to the World Wildlife Fund. The students’ goal throughout this project was to encourage others to be mindful of our impact on the world and animals around us. Fayette County Public Schools

Rainy day blues? The good news is this coming Wednesday, May 24th is the Dixie Family Block Party from 5pm to 7pm! This is an all FREE event including pizza, dessert, free raffle, free scavenger hunt with prizes, fun local businesses, and tons of time to visit with your school family! What a fun filled Field Day!!! The weather was beautiful, the stations were exciting, and all the students, volunteers and staff had a blast together! Huge shout out to Coach Gay for making this day fun for all!

Tonight was a special evening! We got the opportunity to celebrate Michelle Doolin as Dixie Magnet Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year and then we celebrated the years of service and commitment of our retirees Debbie Huffman & Donna Beheler. We love any chance we get to recognize the amazing people that make Dixie what it is!

In May our 5th graders have been practicing archery with Coach Gay in PE! We are excited to be able to offer different experiences in our special area classes.
