School starts in just 3 weeks! And in 2 weeks, our LPES staff will be visiting your neighborhoods to say "hello" to and pass out popsicles. We'll be driving through on the bus between 9am and 10:30am on Wednesday, August 19th. Official stops and times will be communicated a few days before. We can't wait to see you then!

Abundant Life Christian Outreach Center’s Youth Department is excited to host TWO amazing community events to help your family get ready for the new school year!

On Saturday, August 8, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, we’re hosting our Back-to-School School Supplies Drive! Families will have the opportunity to receive school supplies while supplies last to help students start the school year prepared and ready to succeed.

Also, please join us for our Complimentary Back-to-School Hair Bazaar on Monday, August 17, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at 21537 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park.

Our talented volunteer stylists will be providing a variety of free hairstyles including braids, locs, natural styles, ponytails, and even haircuts. We want every child to walk into the school year feeling confident, looking their best, and knowing they’re loved by their community.

These events are completely free and are our way of serving and giving back to the families in our community.

So invite your friends, tell your neighbors, and bring your children. We can’t wait to welcome you and help your family start the school year with confidence, encouragement, and a smile.

Join Knights to Kings Mentorship for an evening focused on preparing boys for success in the classroom, at home, and in life. Through interactive discussions, mentorship, and practical life lessons, we’ll help young men build confidence, make better decisions, set goals, and start the school year with purpose.

Got a future kindergartener who is a little nervous about the school bus?

Good news. They can take it for a practice run. 🚌

St. Mary’s County Library is hosting Kindergarten Here We Come at all three branches. Kids will get a school-themed storytime, crafts, activities, and a practice ride on a real school bus.

The Scoop:
📝 Registration opens Friday, July 17 at 10 AM
🚌 July 31: Leonardtown at 10 AM and Charlotte Hall at 2:30 PM
📍 August 1: Lexington Park at 10 AM
👨‍👩‍👧 Everyone attending must register, including adults

It’s basically a dress rehearsal for the first day, minus the packed lunch and the parent pretending they’re totally fine.
