To all the Chopticon Class of “76” graduates. Plans are starting for our 50th reunion in 2026. Read all the information and let all class mates know that might not have Facebook. The committee hopes to get any new addresses if you have moved or know someone that has. We will have lots of fundraisers to raise money that will help keep the cost down for tickets and we hope everyone will help. If you have any great ideas please share them with the committee. The CHS-Class of 1976 Reunion planning committee is preparing for the 50th year class reunion. The location has not been determined; however, it will be in St. Mary’s County. The proposed dates are Friday, June 5th through Sunday, June 7, 2026. The official reunion will be June 6, 2026.

We would like you to forward updated addresses of classmates and teachers that may have moved out of the southern Maryland area, that you are in contact with.

Starting in January 2025 we will be posting Upcoming Fundraisers that will go toward cutting the reunion cost. As we prepare for fundraisers and events prior to the 50th Reunion you will be notified by Facebook, word of mouth, news articles, etc. We would love it for you, if you were able to volunteer at one or more events. If you would like to host a fundraiser event, please notify us.

Our goal is to create a 50th Reunion Memory Book of past reunions, class holiday parties; our deceased classmates and teachers, also pages of advertisement of business of our classmates and other entities. We are also searching for the deceased classmate and teacher’s funeral obituary to be included in our memory book. This information can be sent to our class mailbox in care of: Annie B. Former Social Studies Teacher....

Mr. Roberts who taught Social Studies at both Choptiocon High School from 1967 until 1978 and then moved onto Leonardtown High School from 1978 until his retirement has had a stroke and is currently in Rehab at Solomons Nursing Center. Such a kind and gentle man, you could not help but admire him and his way of teaching.
I'm sure he would love receiving get well cards or visits. Visiting hours at the nursing home are Monday thru Friday's from 8am - 8pm, Saturday thru Sunday from 8am 6pm.
