🏈 Barton Bear Football Update 🏈

Barton School District would like to share an important update regarding our Senior High football program for the 2026 season.

Due to the number of available Senior High players this year, Barton does not have enough athletes to safely field an 11-man football team. As a result, we are working to transition our Senior High program to 8-man football for the 2026 season.

This change applies to Senior High football for the 2026 season only. Barton Bear Football is not going away, and our Junior High football program will continue to play 11-man football as scheduled.

Our coaching staff and administration are currently working to develop a new 8-man Senior High schedule. Because those details are still being finalized, the previously published Senior High football schedule is no longer current. We will share additional information and an updated schedule as soon as they are available.

Homecoming activities are still planned for next week. Homecoming shirts may still be ordered through this week. The shirt design is being updated to reflect the change and will be posted as soon as it is available. Additional information regarding Homecoming will also be shared as soon as those details are finalized.

We know how much Barton Bear Football means to our students, families, alumni, and community. While the 2026 Senior High season will look different, our priority is providing our student-athletes with the opportunity to compete while keeping their safety at the forefront.

We appreciate your understanding, patience, and support of our Bear family as we work through this transition.

💉 Immunization Clinic Coming September 2 💉

The Arkansas Department of Health will be at Barton School District on Wednesday, September 2 to provide age-specific immunizations for students.

📌 Please note: This clinic is only for immunizations that are recommended based on the student’s age including those commonly due around ages 11–12 and 16. This is NOT a flu shot clinic.

📝 A completed and signed consent form is required for your child to receive an immunization. Students will not be vaccinated without the completed form.

🏐 IT’S LADY BEARS GAME DAY! 🐻

The Lady Bears are back on the court today as they take on Blytheville in a Benefit Game! The action starts at 5:30 PM in the Bear Den at Partners Bank Gymnasium, with doors opening at 5:00 PM.

Admission is $7.00 at the gate. Please remember that gate admission and concessions are CASH ONLY. 💵

Come fill the Bear Den, get loud, and cheer on our Lady Bears! 📣

🐻 MEET THE BEARS IS TONIGHT! 🐻

Meet the Bears is TONIGHT at 6:00 PM!

📍 At this time, the event is still scheduled to be held at Frank McClellan Field. We are closely watching the weather conditions and heat index throughout the day.

If a location change is necessary, we will send an updated message as soon as that decision is made.

📣 We are also excited to have Peewee Football and Peewee Cheer joining our Junior and Senior High Cheer, Football, Volleyball, and Band for tonight's introductions!

🎟️ Admission is a donation of Liquid IV packets or high protein bars and snacks to help support our student athletes throughout the season.
