Rachel Robertson knows that teaching is meaningful work, and that it can be really hard.

A former teacher and center director, Rachel now serves as Chief Academic Officer for Bright Horizons. For Cindy Mudroch, MEd, creating accessible learning environments isn’t just a professional passion. It’s personal.

Cindy has spent decades as a general and special education teacher, but her commitment to inclusion took on new meaning when her son Robbie was born. As a young child, Robbie experienced significant speech, language, sensory, and learning challenges. In an inclusive early childhood program designed to give children multiple ways to learn, participate, and show what they knew, Cindy watched him begin to thrive.

Those early supports helped open doors that would shape the rest of Robbie’s life. Years later, while facing cancer as a young adult, he asked his mother to write his story.
That story became part of the inspiration for Cindy’s 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴: 𝘈 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘭 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘥 and for her mission to help educators remove barriers before they prevent children from showing what they can do.
