Classes start on Monday! Text Miranda (336.467.7117) to reserve your child's spot today. I have availability in all classes, although some are close to capacity. Once they are full, your next opportunity to take classes will be in the summer.
What to expect in our multi-age, small group classes. These classes are designed for school age students.
In art, we focus on the process over the product. Students will experience an atmosphere where they are free to express themselves while learning new art techniques. We will be exploring different mediums such as painting, fiber, clay, and more.
In sewing, students learn the basics of hand sewing. We will start by creating a project together. I guide each student, while teaching them a variety of stitches. Once they have the basics down, each child will create their own project from pattern making, all the way to the finished product.
In creative writing, students learn the art of storytelling through games, collaboration, and independent writing. The atmosphere is laid back and inviting. Students feel comfortable to share their work and love receiving specific positive feedback from their peers.
A little about me. This will be my 20th year as an educator. I was a classroom teacher for 17 years, the last 5 being a Lower Elementary (1-3 grade) Montessori teacher. I am currently a full-time tutor. As a teacher, I take my job seriously. I want to inspire, encourage, and provide an atmosphere where students can be themselves. By creating a safe atmosphere, students are willing to learn, problem solve and try new things.
