“My child is shy and doesn’t like trying new things. Will Taekwondo help?”

Absolutely.

When Suvan first started Taekwondo, he was nervous, shy, and didn’t even want to step onto the mat. Being in a new environment with new instructors and other students felt overwhelming.

But with patience, encouragement, and consistent practice, something amazing happened.

Week by week, he became more comfortable. He started participating, making friends, speaking up, and believing in himself.

Today, he proudly performs in front of large crowds, earns new belts with confidence, and walks onto the mat with excitement.

Confidence isn’t built in a day. It’s built one class, one challenge, and one success at a time.

If your child is shy, that’s okay. Many of our most confident students started exactly the same way.

🥋 Every confident child starts with a first step.

❓ “Will Taekwondo help my child focus better?”

This is one of the most common questions parents ask us.

The answer is yes—but not because we make kids sit still. Taekwondo teaches focus through movement, fun, and repetition.

Every class requires students to listen carefully, follow directions, remember techniques, and stay engaged from beginning to end. Over time, these skills carry over into school, home, and everyday life.

We’ve seen many children improve their attention, listening skills, and confidence through consistent training.

Focus isn’t something kids are born with—it’s something they can develop.

How do I know if my child is ready for Taekwondo?

Many parents ask this question when their child is around 3–4 years old. The good news is that your child doesn’t need to be athletic, strong, or have any martial arts experience to get started.

Your child may be ready for Taekwondo if they can:

✅ Follow simple instructions
✅ Listen and respond to a coach or teacher
✅ Participate in a group activity for a short period of time
✅ Have fun moving, running, jumping, and playing
✅ Show excitement about learning new things

At this age, Taekwondo is less about perfect kicks and more about developing focus, confidence, coordination, respect, and self-discipline in a fun and positive environment.

Many parents are surprised to discover that their child is capable of much more than they expected once they step onto the mat!

Bring your Kiddo to find out what truly they are capable of. You will be amazed to witness the power and potential within your child.

What is Koryo Form Means?

Koryo – The First Black Belt Poomsae

Koryo is the first poomsae learned after earning a 1st Dan Black Belt in World Taekwondo. It is named after the Koryo Dynasty, an important period in Korean history known for its strength, culture, and sense of justice. In fact, the name “Korea” comes from this dynasty.

Koryo represents the journey from student to leader. Earning a black belt is not the end of training—it is the beginning of a greater responsibility. A black belt is expected to demonstrate respect, discipline, confidence, and strong character both inside and outside the dojang.

The movements in Koryo are powerful, controlled, and confident. Some techniques use open hands, symbolizing wisdom, self-control, and the ability to use strength with good judgment.

When performing Koryo, focus not only on the techniques but also on the spirit behind them. This poomsae represents a martial artist who has developed strength in body, mind, and character. It reminds us to act with honor, integrity, and respect while continuing to grow as Taekwondo practitioners.

Koryo is more than a form—it is a symbol of the responsibility and leadership that come with becoming a black belt.
