HOW: Any available positions will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: We will have completed the pre-registration process for all families currently in ESD, and some schools may have reached the enrollment cap for the 2026-2027 school year. No positions will be available at these campuses. The school day may end, but the impact of our Extended School Day staff keeps going!

During Afterschool Professionals Week, we’re celebrating the team members who support, encourage and care for LISD students each afternoon. Thank you for all you do to make afterschool time meaningful, fun and full of heart!

All LISD schools and offices will resume normal operations and schedules 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰, 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐚𝐧. 𝟑𝟎.

District crews have actively been working over the past couple of days to break up ice in parking lots and transportation centers, treating sidewalks, shaded areas, and high-traffic locations, to prepare campuses for a safe return on Friday.

Buses will run on their normal schedules, and will resume regularly scheduled routes and operations. For families who utilize bus transportation, please be sure you have downloaded the StopFinder app to receive the most up-to-date transportation information as we resume service on Friday.

It is possible for road conditions to vary greatly across LISD which spans 127 square miles. We’re unable to make a decision for just one campus or area of our district, but rather must take into consideration all of the 13 different municipalities our district serves. For that reason, parents are the ultimate decision-makers on whether or not their students will attend school, and should notify the school as they would for any absence if the parent chooses to keep their student home. The district will accommodate absences and tardies accordingly.

Due to expected winter weather in our area beginning tomorrow afternoon and out of an abundance of caution, all LISD facilities and ESD programs will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22.

We encourage families to pick up students as early as possible on Friday.

If further cancellations, delays and/or early releases are necessary, families will be notified immediately.

All LISD facilities will be closed beginning at 𝟓 𝐩.𝐦. 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐚𝐧. 𝟐𝟑, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐚𝐧. 𝟐𝟒 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐚𝐧. 𝟐𝟓 due to expected winter weather in our area over the weekend. All after-school activities on Friday, Jan. 23 are canceled or will be rescheduled. All extracurricular activities, facility rentals, and campus events this weekend will be rescheduled. Program directors will communicate directly with families regarding rescheduled activities.
