Dressed to Learn

Toiletries drives are an easy way to help LISD students in need! Dressed to Learn is running low on body wash, shampoo and conditioner. We need full-sized items (given to new-family requests) and travel-sized items (we like to provide a small hygiene kit with all clothing requests). Every little bit helps! Email [email protected] for more information.

Dressed to Learn is a program of the LISD Council of PTAs. We stock clothing for LISD students in need for any reason. Counselors, social workers, nurses and teachers in LISD may request shoes, coats, T-shirts, stretchy pants/shorts, underclothes and hygiene items for students in need by emailing [email protected] . We are 100% donation driven and volunteer-operated.

Our LISD community's support makes Dressed to Learn possible. We are grateful for the opportunity to turn school lost-and-found items, family hand-me-downs and bargain-savvy shoppers' gifts into a student's ability to go to school Dressed to Learn—comfortable and confident.

Un**es are our most-needed item, year after year. Any student that needs tops and bottoms gets un**es too!

If you have a student council, work volunteer day or other philanthropy group that would like to help LISD students in need, please consider an Un**es drive! We need all children's sizes (XS size 4 up to XL size 16-18) and adult sizes (S-M-L-XL).

Dressed to Learn provides comfy clothes for LISD students in need. We are looking for men's sweatpants in any/all sizes (XS-2XL). We have porch drop-off sites around the district and take hand-me-downs (good condition, please!) as well as new. Every pair helps.

If you're cleaning closets and dressers, please be on the lookout!

LHS - Harmon campus is one of our best customers! They utilize everything Dressed to Learn can do. Today we dropped off 3 full sets of clothing/hygiene items for a new LISD family in need, 2XL PE clothes for a student, as well as all the adult-sized hoodies and sweats we could muster. We solved a deodorant crisis, offered hairbrushes, body wash and restocked the counseling office with women's un**es. In all, hundreds of students will be served by Dressed to Learn!

All these things are made possible by LISD community donations and the hundreds of volunteer hours necessary to get items ready to go to LISD students. Thank you so much to everyone involved with Dressed to Learn!

Dressed to Learn is 100% donation-driven and volunteer-staffed. We couldn't help LISD without our community!

Team Dressed to Learn tackled an ENORMOUS pile of summer donations this morning! Thanks to our many faithful helpers who sorted it all, and thank you to the many local PTAs who laundered and donated lost & found items over the summer.

If you've got a bag of hand-me-down comfy school clothes, we have porch drop-off sites around the district. We love T-shirts, shorts, joggers, leggings and coats. We thank the many families who continuously keep our clothing racks filled for LISD students in need!

Thanks to Castle Hills Elementary School PTA for hosting a toiletries drive and re-stocking out cabinet. We are 100% donation-driven and are so thankful for our caring LISD community!

Thank you to our intrepid Saturday volunteers who walked into an explosion of donations on our storage side, sorted and made sense of it all, and converted our "shopping" side from Winter gear to spring. We are 100% volunteer operated and couldn't serve LISD students without your help! (See "before" and "after" videos!)

We love working with our partners at Communities In Schools of North Texas to serve LISD students in need, and Dr. Rapp is one of our biggest champions. If you want to lift up both at once, support Dr. Rapp in this CISNTX fundraiser.
