Samantha Evans, a 2024 Marcus High School graduate, received the Eiler and Adlaine Buck Scholarship & William Janvrin Memorial Scholarship, and is currently a student at Texas A&M University ✨

Kiyaan Aly, a 2024 Hebron High School graduate, received the Commercial Structures and Interiors (CSI) Scholarship and is currently a student at the University of Texas at Austin 🧡💫

“As a chemical engineering major, life is not easy in college. I was able to focus on my studies due to the graciousness of LEF and my scholarship donor. I would not be able to succeed as I am today without their collective efforts and support.

It is also an uplifting reminder of the hopes my community has for me, one I was raised and cherished in, and one I will not forget as I take the next steps in my academic and professional pursuits. Did you know? 💙 Inside DeLay Middle School, Harvey’s Haven is a campus “market” helping support families in need right here in our community.

Launched in 2021 through a grant from The Drew Barrymore Show and support from partners like Texas Health Resources, it uses a points-based system so families can shop with dignity for what they need most.

Each week, about 15–25 families select fresh healthy foods, refrigerated items, dry goods, personal hygiene products, and household essentials. The program is led by Library Media Specialist Erica Bagby, alongside counseling and social work staff and Communities In Schools of North Texas partners LeeAnna Saffle and Tracey Quezada!
