New glaze color! Shelly Island. If you have ever been to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, Cape Point is an area where the warm Gulf Stream collides right off its shores with the colder Labrador Current. This area is constantly changing with the shifting sand. In 2017, after a Spring storm, a new island of sand just beyond the tip of Cape Point formed. It was named Shelly Island because of the abundance of shells including numerous whole welk shells. This glaze color reminds me of that sand that made up the island. It did not last long. After another storm later in tat year, the sand shifted again and the island was gone.
