Thank you, Hannaford-Sabattus Street! Weโ€™re incredibly grateful to be the beneficiary of Hannafordโ€™s Community Bag Program this month. Every bag purchased helps support the work of YWCA Central Maine and our community.

Our classrooms are growing! Weโ€™re excited to welcome new students to our preschool and after-school programs as a new school year gets underway. Weโ€™re thrilled to have these children and families become part of the YWCA community!

And something new! This September, weโ€™re offering a ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—•๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐˜†๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฒ for young people ages 11โ€“16. Itโ€™s a great opportunity for kids to build confidence, learn valuable skills and get ready to take on their first babysitting jobs.

Celebrating Our YWCA Team!

Yesterday was all about our people! We gathered for a staff retreat filled with connection, reflection, learning, and plenty of laughsโ€”and took time to celebrate some truly outstanding members of the YWCA team with our annual staff awards.

Every day, our staff show up with compassion, dedication, and a commitment to strengthening our community. Weโ€™re so grateful for the energy and heart they bring to their work and to the people we serve.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients, and thank you to Chris Trout - our guest trainer- and Big Dโ€™s for a yummy lunch!

What better way to celebrate our final day than with a photo full of YWCA smilesโ€”and the amazing person who helps make it all happen!

Right smack dab in the middle is Miss Crystal, our Childcare Director, who pours so much heart, energy, and love into our kiddos and our programs all year long. Weโ€™re so grateful for her leadership and for the incredible team who helped make this summer one to remember!

To all our campers: thank you for the laughs, adventures, friendships, and memories.

A Great Way to Wrap Up Summer!

Our campers enjoyed their last field trip of the summer with a visit to Gather to Grow! They had a wonderful time getting outside, picking flowers, learning, and connecting with the natural world. ๐Ÿ’š

Movement, Strength & Community in the Water

Thereโ€™s something special about moving together in the water! Our MS Wellness Program participants enjoyed Water Tai Chi yesterday with instructor Karen, combining gentle movement, balance, strength, and relaxation in a supportive environment.

The pool is more than a place to swimโ€”itโ€™s a place to build confidence, connect with others, and support wellness at every stage.

It's hard to believe we're already in the final week of YWCA Central Maine Summer Camp!

Some highlights from last week include a Books-a-Million book fair, and a special treat for some of our older campers from give IT/get IT - they made their own computers!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this summer so special for our campersโ€”and especially to our amazing camp staff who have filled these weeks with fun, friendship, and learning.

Here's to one more week of summer memories!
