The message from the construction company was that things would begin as soon as the students were out of the building. They were not kidding.
Our staff did a great job of packing up and labeling everything for storage, auction or trash. The storage containers are full. The auction items are there for purchase and the demolition crews have cleared most of the rooms. A tremendous amount of work has already been done both outside and inside. Check out the deconstruction pictures below.

Hoping to keep this pace going throughout the summer and be in schedule for our return into a renovated elementary in August.

Another great crowd for the Kindergarten and 1st grade concert. Three classic kindergarten songs were followed by 1st graders singing three from Toy Story. Both grades sang together the final two songs including our Elementary School Song. Lots of fun to see them belting out the songs. Thank you Mr Harper for getting them practiced and ready for a great show.

The first of the Elementary Spring concerts brought a full house to our gymnasium. The 2nd and 3rd graders performed three songs as a grade level and three songs together with a United States theme. It’s always impressive how much our kids sing out and perform. Much of that is due to the skills of Mr. Harper and the practice of the students. Great show!!

Fools Five fun and festivities!!

Each year, our Elementary School is a huge part of the kickoff to the Folks Five weekend of activities, all in wheys to raise funds for cancer research.

We did it again. Another huge effort from the students and families! Our elementary families raised $11,983!! Add in the high school families and Silo and St. John’s families and the total from students rockets to $16,477! Now that’s impressive!

The morning started with the prize ceremony. The school day ended with paras, teachers and office earning the pie in the face challenge. It got loud in the gym! Great fun! Great participation!

Wow! What a show!
The entire elementary traveled to the High School for a preview showing the High School Musical! Our excited students get to look up to all the actors actresses. Mr Harper was able to highlight some of the music in music class to bills the excitement. A fun afternoon. The Class of 2039!!!
It was great to welcome the incoming kindergarteners and their parents to the Elementary School last evening for Kindergarten Registration night. Can you believe that this group will graduate in the year 2039!
The theme for the evening was Shoot for the Stars with families stopping at all the star points that a kindergarten student goes in their day. Families and students all started their afternoon meeting with our Kdgn staff to hear what their day will be like next year. Families then got a look at the planned renovations of our building that includes renovated kindergarten rooms. Families a pizza meal in the cafeteria visited the gym, music room, Cardinal Club and the office. We all will look forward to the renovated building next year. So excited to have you all coming to Kdgn.

The equations are flying at March Math Mania!!
It’s so fun to see the young brains at work taking on the challenges and figuring out math problems. Each grade level has math mazes, puzzles and challenges to overcome in order to get a math prize from the table! The prize plus a pizza supper gives the sum of a great family night!
Thank you to Ms Ostrander for the planning, organizing and implementation of it math night. Thank you also to the Play Group and many staff members who volunteered to help!

5th graders visit the career fair!

With an eye to the future, our fifth graders joined high school students in visiting the 2026 Lewiston-Altura Career Fair. There were 14 local businesses represented for our students to interact with, learning about their business and how to learn more about it.
Heard on the bus ride back to the elementary, “I thought that might be boring, but that was pretty cool!”

A big THANK YOU to the area businesses listed below for setting up to talk to our 5-12 grade level students. Your efforts are appreciated.
