Idaho Public Schools are required by Idaho Code 33-1639 to observe a daily minute of silence.
This notice is to inform you that beginning July 1, 2026 all Lewiston School District schools will observe one minute of silence at or near the beginning of each school day.
During this minute, your student may sit quietly or engage in any silent activity that is consistent with school rules and District policy as long as it doesn’t distract or interfere with other students. Disruption of the minute of silence may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the District’s student behavior policy.
The District encourages parents and guardians to offer direction to their child on silent reflection or activity to engage in during the minute of silence.

Creativity and entrepreneurship were on the menu at Jenifer Middle School as 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Summer Learning students completed a fun food truck business project!
Students created their own food truck concepts, planned menus, calculated pricing, marketed their products, and sold their creations to real customers. Along the way, they learned about economics, food preparation, and profit and loss. They even got to enjoy the leftovers!

Middle school summer learning students recently put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test during an Egg Drop Competition!
Using only straws, cardboard, tape, and a little bit of physics, students designed contraptions to protect their raw eggs from an 80-foot drop. The creativity and engineering on display were impressive!
A big thank you to the Lewiston Fire Department for bringing out the ladder truck and making the big drop possible. It was an unforgettable hands-on learning experience!
